Welcome to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Lupane State University! The Faculty responds to the demands of the Heritage Based Education 5.0 promulgated by the Government of Zimbabwe in 2018.  The import of this is that the Faculty is cognisant of the challenges faced by the diverse communities of Zimbabwe and is desirous to provide solutions to these problems through praxis. 

The Faculty boasts of a diverse and vibrant community of highly qualified staff members and innovative students dedicated to developing their communities through creating new knowledge. The Faculty strives to provide a conducive and enabling environment for students and staff to reach their full potential as citizens of local communities and the Global world. The Faculty prides itself in offering engaging, responsive and dynamic spread of programmes that respond to human and technological needs of the modern world.

The Faculty is currently working on developing new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that explore the nexus between technology, market and human capital needs of the 21 Century landscape.

About the Faculty

The Faculty has the following five Departments:

 1. Development Studies

 2. Geography and Geo-Information Sciences

 3. Educational Foundations

 4. Languages

5. Community studies

The Faculty also has one Centre, namely; the Centre for Evaluation Science. The Faculty houses the Lupane State University Campus Radio Station that is airing.
