Lupane State University Principal Officers

Professor P. K. Kuipa is the current Vice Chancellor of Lupane State University. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Pro Vice Chancellor at Chinhoyi University of Technology. His academic journey includes a tenure at the National University of Science and Technology, where he held positions as a Senior Lecturer and later as the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technology. Research Interest His research interests cover: Solvent Extraction Fundamentals Industrial Effluent Characterisation and Treatment Membrane Extraction (Liquids) Electrical Dehydration of Water in Oil Emulsions Beneficiation of Kaolin clays Transesterification of oils/fats using solid catalysts to produce biodiesel and saleable glycerol Prof. Pardon Kuipa has supervised over five MPhil students, who have completed their thesis and graduated. Currently, he is supervising four PhD students at Chinhoyi University of Technology. He has over twenty-nine publications.

Prof. Thulani Dube is a seasoned Academic with over 20 years of university teaching and administrative experience. He has worked in various universities in Zimbabwe including the University of Zimbabwe, Midlands State University and Lupane State University. He has served in various portfolios in the University system including as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and founding Chairperson of the Department of Development Studies. Dr Dube is an acclaimed consultant in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Climate Change, Livelihoods and Disaster Risk and Resilience with over 15 years of experience. He has provided expert consultancy services to international institutions such as the World Bank, UN Food and Agriculture Organisation, UN World Food Programme, UN Women, African Development Bank, Plan International, and World Vision.
