Student Affairs Division
The Student Affairs Division is a central administrative unit responsible for the welfare of students beyond the lecture-room. It provides services and support to students so that they may develop and attain their full academic, personal, and professional potential. Students are guided, supported and challenged to achieve the utmost of which they are individually capable. Students\' learning and personal growth is supported through the provision of quality services which include health, sport, accommodation, catering, social, religious, and cultural activities.
📌 Key Responsibilities
- Orient new students and assist them familiarise with the University policies and procedures
- Promote student welfare, safety, and well-being
- Manage student accommodation and campus living services
- Provide health care and counselling services
- Facilitate student leadership through the Students Executive Council
- Handle student discipline and grievance procedures
- Provide and support sports and recreation for students
- Provide catering and other essential campus services
🛠️ Services Offered
Dean of Students: Heads the Student Affairs Division, provides oversight of student welfare policies and services, and administers student conduct and disciplinary processes fairly and consistently.
Sports and Recreation: Maintains and schedules use of courts, fields, gymnasium, and fitness facilities. Organises intramural programs, inter-university competitions, and sports festivals.
Guidance and Counselling: Provides individual and group counselling for personal, academic, and career issues. Develops psycho-educational workshops and promotes mental health awareness.
Health Services: Provides on-campus primary medical care, first aid, and emergency stabilization. Runs vaccination and screening programmes.
Accommodation Services: Allocates rooms in Halls of Residence and manages waiting lists according to policy. Oversees maintenance, cleanliness, and safety standards in residences.
Canteen Services: Manages campus dining facilities, maintains food safety and hygiene standards, and coordinates catering for university events.
