The broad objective of an engineering programme is the teaching of the skills and knowledge needed for the design and operation of modern irrigation systems, associated water supply, drainage networks at scheme, farm and field levels and the skills to develop solutions to many management problems which limit the successful operation of many irrigation projects.
The specific objectives of this programme are to :
Apply the scientific knowledge to advance agricultural production and post-production activities through appropriate irrigation design and management strategies.
Implement government policies related to irrigated crop production, land and environmental management
Initiate and manage agribusiness profitably
Provide technical expertise and support in matters relating to irrigation design, construction, operation and maintenance
