Welcome to the Department of Animal Science and Rangeland Management

The Department of Animal Science and Rangeland Management is devoted to hands-on manpower development in the dynamic disciplines of domestic animal production, forest and wildlife resource management. Our comprehensive undergraduate animal science programmes integrate knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology, nutrition, breeding and genetics, rangeland management and economics. Programmes in forest and wildlife resource management are crafted to ensure sustainable exploitation of the vast natural resources which the region is endowed with. Post graduate programmes including animal breeding and biotechnology are offered. Apart from teaching the Department is dedicated to research and community outreach. Research activities are directed towards increasing knowledge and understanding challenges that communities face.
