Dr Mcebisi Maphosa (Dean : Faculty of Agriculture)

Dr. Maphosa holds a PhD in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology, Masters in Genetics and Plant Breeding (Makerere University) and First Class Bachelors Degree in Agriculture: Crop Science (University of Zimbabwe). His areas of interest are Plant Breeding, Seed Science and Systems, Biotechnology and Experimental Design. He has managed a number of grants such as the International Foundation for Science focusing on soybean improvement, RUFORUM grants on Strengthening Soybean rust resistance, biofortification of maize germplasm. Currently he is working on aflatoxin management, strengthening seed systems, germplasm characterization, crop biofortification and molecular marker assisted selection.
